Come play Euchre in Charleston. All skill levels welcome.

Charleston Euchre Club is a community-driven network of players across the Lowcountry. Whether you're brand new or have played for years, you can show up, join a game, and start playing right away.

Weekly meetups are casual and self-run — no RSVP or partner needed. Just show up, grab a drink, and join a table. Come solo, bring a friend, or connect with players in the Facebook group before you go.

These are established community meetups that continue to grow each week. All games are self-run — just show up and join a table, or if you arrive first, grab a deck and start one. Players will join as they arrive.

Community Tournaments

Charleston Euchre Club does not host official tournaments.

However, members are welcome to organize and run their own tournaments at local venues. If you're interested in hosting one, post the details in the Facebook group and invite players to participate.

Understanding how trump works is the key to enjoying the game, playing confidently, and knowing why certain cards suddenly become powerful. If you’re new to Euchre or just getting back into the game, this step-by-step explanation will make it clear. Step 1: What Is Trump in Euchre? In Euchre, trump is the suit that beats all other suits for that hand. Once a trump suit is chosen, any trump card will beat any non-trump card, regardless of rank. If you’ve ever heard someone shout “Stick the Dealer!” and seen the table erupt in laughter, tension, or mock sympathy — you’re not alone. It’s one of the most exciting (and pressure-filled) rules in Euchre. But what does it actually mean? Let’s break it down so you never get caught off guard. What Does “Stick the Dealer” Mean? In Euchre, after the top card from the kitty is turned up, players get one chance to tell the dealer to pick it up — which would make that suit trump. If everyone passes, a second round begins where players can name a different suit as trump. But here’s the twist: if everyone passes  again  — the dealer  must  choose a trump suit.
