Do I need to RSVP or bring a partner?
No. Just show up — no RSVP or partner needed. Solo players welcome.

What does it cost?
All meetups are free.

When do games happen?
Games happen throughout the week at various locations. Check the Events page for details or post in the Facebook group.

How many people usually attend?
Attendance varies. Some nights are quieter, others are more active as the community grows.

What if I’ve never played before?
We recommend learning the basics beforehand. Games move quickly, but players are usually happy to help.

What’s the vibe?
Casual, social, and welcoming. Games range from relaxed to competitive depending on the group.

How long does it last?
Most meetups run about two hours — arrive anytime.

Can I bring a friend?
Yes — just have them review the basics first.

What if no one is there when I arrive?
Grab a table and start a game — others will usually join.

Can I organize my own meetup or game?
Yes. Charleston Euchre Club is community-driven — members are encouraged to start tables, organize meetups, and post in the Facebook group to invite others.

Where do I find updates or see who’s playing?
Join the Facebook group to connect, check activity, and post if you’re heading out.

Understanding how trump works is the key to enjoying the game, playing confidently, and knowing why certain cards suddenly become powerful. If you’re new to Euchre or just getting back into the game, this step-by-step explanation will make it clear. Step 1: What Is Trump in Euchre? In Euchre, trump is the suit that beats all other suits for that hand. Once a trump suit is chosen, any trump card will beat any non-trump card, regardless of rank. It’s one of the most exciting (and pressure-filled) rules in Euchre. But what does it actually mean? Let’s break it down so you never get caught off guard. What Does “Stick the Dealer” Mean? In Euchre, after the top card from the kitty is turned up, players get one chance to tell the dealer to pick it up — which would make that suit trump. If everyone passes, a second round begins where players can name a different suit as trump. But here’s the twist: if everyone passes  again  — the dealer  must  choose a trump suit.
